This museum is located in Göztepe, Kadiköy in the Asian Side of İstanbul. It was founded in 2005 by a Turkish famous poet/author Sunay Akın. It is hosted by a magnificient historical mansion and has examples of favourite toys starting from 1700s to today’s time.
This museum is actually a product of 20 years. All of the toys were purchased from collectors all around the world by Sunay Akın and put together in a great design by Ayhan Doğan who is a stage design artist himself. One very important feature of this museum is that everybody will find a part of their childhood here! It is such museum that you can visit there with three generations of your family!
What to do?
You will be captivated by the entrance floor! Attic will bring back memories! Submarine will impress your children!
When you are thirsty, you will find a cafe that makes you feel as if you were in a doll house. This cafe also hosts for brithday and breakfast events.
How to go?
If you are already in Kadıköy, you can take those buses for Göztepe: 10B, 10S, 14ÇK, 17, 17L, 19F, 19M, 19S, GZ1, GZ2, ER1, ER2.
From Beşiktaş, you can take a ferry to Kadıköy and then find the buses above.
From Eminönü, you can take a ferry to Kadıköy and then find the buses above.
