Atatürk International Airport, which is Atatürk Uluslararası Havalimani in Turkish, is the biggest airport in İstanbul. It is located in the European side and has an easy access. You can get there by metro or you can take a taxi. If you are using the metro, there are many options to get to the metro itself! Just make sure you get on M1A route for the airport. Atatürk Airport is the last station of the metro!
It was the first airport in İstanbul when it was build in 1953. Its name was Yeşilköy Airport and it actually made for military purposes. Over the years, international terminals were added and it has re-opened under current name.
